We’ve seen a few queries lately as to how the Extra Long Jumbo barrel, from the Pick n Mix range, works. Our brand ambassador Thomas Tatam is going to give you all his tips or tricks he may have to help.
Many celebs lately have been rocking a barely there curl in their hair, such as Kim Kardashian, Kylie Jenner, Bella Hadid, Jennifer Aniston and so many more are showing us less is way more! We are here to help you create the look for less with super quick and easy steps!
The Jumbo once attached to either the Original Wand Handle or Curl Fix Handle will reach an optimum temperature of 165º, but I would still recommend a heat protectant of some kind to ensure you maintain your hairs health! (After all, you wouldn’t put your skin in the sun without SPF, so why would you put your hair through high heats without protection?!) My favourite to use, alongside the Jumbo, is the Long Wear Curl Hold spray. Not only is it a heat protector that can protect and withstand up to 210º of heat, but it also has the ability to make your curls last for up to 12 hours! It’s kind of like a heat protector and hairspray all rolled into one.
Before curling each section, make sure you have protected it, and then gently wrap the hair around the tong, curling all hair away from the face. This technique opens up the jaw line and gives a more flattering finish.
Hold each section around the tong for 5-10 seconds, and then allow to either cool in the hand or pin up using a creaseless clip. Repeat all the way around the head and let the pins stay in for at least 10 minutes after completing the entire head. For the hard to reach areas at the back of the head, the Curl Fix handle is ideal as it is adjustable so it can turn at a 45º angle.
Slowly removed each clip in the hair and allow the hair to fall naturally where it wants to, brush through with either a Bristle Brush or a Wide Tooth Comb until you are happy with the finished result, and then spray with Extreme Hairspray and Shine Spray, this helps to keep the curls in but maintain the glossy hair we all desire.
With these quick and simple steps, you will achieve relaxed barely there curls that LAST! A super easy style, which will definitely grab peoples attention.
